TT Full Form

The Full version that refers to TT refers to The Travelling Ticket Examiner. TT examiner is an employee within the Indian railway who examines passenger tickets on the way to and from trains. The section of Travelling Ticket Examiner falls under the direction of Indian Railway Traffic service (IRTS) cadre of officers within Indian Railways. The TTE typically wears a black uniform (black pants along with the jacket) along with their name as well as designation printed on an IRTS badge. A typical traveling Ticket Examiner is in charge of approximately 5-6 coaches during the whole journey of small distances and for long distances, a different TTE is appointed at various stations. The responsibilities of TT examiners includes checking the tickets of all passengers who are in the coach, to mark whether a passenger is available on the coach or not. as well as to shut off coaches inside at night, to give first aid to a person in the event of a medical emergency and to allocate seats to passengers on waiting lists, and to issue a fine slip to those who don't have a ticket.

The word TT means Tetanus Toxoid. It is a vaccine which protects against the infection tetanus. Tetanus is a serious illness of the nervous system , caused by a bacterium called Clostridiumtetani. The bacteria can enter the body through a cut wounds, bites, burns, and so on. They can affect the nervous system and may cause serious health issues if left untreated. The symptoms that are common to this disease include convulsions, muscle spasms, lockjaws stiffness and problems swallowing.

The vaccine was developed in the 1920s, and was successful when it was utilized in World War II to protect the US military from the tetanus virus. This vaccination recommended for all infants, children and adults.

The TT vaccine is administered by a doctor or health specialist. Some of the side reactions of this vaccine are redness, fever, swelling, soreness, tenderness, etc.

It is also given pregnant women to avoid the development of neonatal tetanus. The injection creates antibodies within the body of the mother, which is passed on through to children. It shields both mother as well as the child from tetanus.

The term TT means Tetanus Toxoid. Also known as Tetanus vaccine can be described as an inactive vaccine that is used to prevent Tetanus. A total of six doses will be administered that include five during childhood and one during adolescents. The booster dose is recommendedif one subject has a cut or injury caused by rusted iron in the first 48 hours. After the first 3 doses of the vaccine the person is generally believed to be at first immune. The pregnant woman is usually given 2 doses of the vaccination to reduce the chance of Neonatal Tetanus which can happen due to an untreated Umbilical Stump cut mostly using unsterile instruments. Tetanus vaccination is administered by itself or in combination with other vaccines , including diphtheria and pertussis vaccines( DTaP ). It is reported that severe allergic reactions occur in extremely rare instances.

History:

The Antiserum of Tetanus was developed by a group of German scientists led by "Emil Van Behring" in 1890. However, the Tetanus Toxoid vaccine was prepared in the year 1924. In the beginning, this vaccine was made available to soldiers fighting in war. This is the WHO's one of the most vital vaccines and is considered to be the safest in the health care system.

Tetanus Causative Agent and Symptoms:

Tetanus causes by bacteria Clostridium Tetani. It is a condition that affects the nervous system. The bacterium produces two exotoxins among which one is a neurotoxin, which triggers the effects of Tetanus.

The symptoms of Tetanus begin gradually. First signs will be noticeable stiffness of the jaw( lockjaw ) along with difficulties in swallowing followed by fever, headache, and an increase of heart rate. The condition progresses to seizures, muscle spasms and other behavior that typically occurs in the nervous system when there are disorders. The mortalityrate increases more when it is in the group 55 and above and those who were not immunized earlier. The spasms continue for more than 3 weeks and complete recovery may take several months. The illness is not transmitted when it comes into contact with the person who is infected that usually happens in the case of virus since the causative factor of Tetanus is bacteria. The infection will take its place when an open wound or cut is in contact with the bacteria and allows the ingress of the bacteria into the system. The duration of the incubation ranges between 3 and 21 days.

Effectiveness of Tetanus Toxoid:

The TT vaccine has been proven in 100% effectiveness against the Tetanus disease, provided that the first dose of vaccination is taken. The immunization is of two types which are passive and active. Active immunization of TT is suggested in infancy together with Diphtheria and Acellular Pertussis( DTaP ) at the age of 2 months or 6 months, 15-18 months, after that at 5-6 years. A second dose of Tdap is administered between the ages of 10-12 years. Research proves that vaccination is safe for more than 10 years. The vaccination is available in the form of Quadrivalent Pentavalent, Quadrivalent, and Hexavalent formulation , with the addition of additional vaccines to prevent discomfort.

Mechanism of the Vaccine:

Tetanus requires active immunization that generates an artificial active immune system. The mode of action is by leading to active immunity by injecting dead form of the disease, causing that the body's immune system react thus producing antibodies. This can be helpful in late stages of life, as immunity in the human body acts immediately if the disease enters the body afterward by generating antibodies that recognize the antigen.

The vaccination is necessary during the gestational period as it permits the fetus to receive the antibody. The vaccination is administered between 26 and 36 weeks of gestational period.
